Breastfeeding - can a plugged milk duct be on the under side of breast?

I have been breastfeeding for six months now. The last two days, I have had a sore/tender feeling on the outside/lower portion of my left breast, just above where a bra's underwire would start to curve upward, if that makes sense. Everything I have read about treating plugged ducts makes it sound like it is always above or next to the nipple, not below. Is this likely a plugged duct or something else?

I was wondering the SAME thing! I've been having a problem on my left side for the last couple of days and was starting to think that I may have one as well. It's almost exactly where you describe, but just a little higher up towards my arm pit.

I also wear underwire bras due to my size up top as well, and was wondering if that may have something to do with it.
