Crochet granny square blanket help?

Okay, I've Crocheted a granny square blanket that is red,black, and white. On the package of the yarn it said it is colourfast. should I was the blanket in cold water on a Delicate cycle or hand washable cycle in my washing machine? Will the colour run into the white?

The label should also include care instructions. If it does, then you will not have to read all this.

If the yarn is wool, dry cleaning may be the best way to clean the blanket.

If not - this is long - but you do not want to ruin all your hard work.

If you have any of the yarn left over, make a swatch or two for testing.

Measure the swatch, then wash in the sink with a cold water detergent.

Rinse and blot out as much water as possible.

Let it dry naturally and check it for shrinkage and bleeding.

Wash and rinse again (or use another swatch) and dry in the dryer on low until almost dry - check the measurement and colors again.

If there isn't any change then you could wash it in the washer, but with precaution - place the trusted detergent in the washer, add a small amount of water and let the agitator mix it.

Add the blanket and continue to fill the washer. Let agitate on a gentle cycle for just a couple of minutes. Spin, rinse in same way - just a few minutes - spin.

Dry as you did the sample, then while the blanket is still damp lay it flat and straight to dry - this also known as blocking.
